Dr Sara Mgaieth is a consultant gastroenterologist and general medicine physician who has recently joined the practice. She is fluent in several languages including Italian, French and Arabic. Sara completed a Bachelor degree at Boston University, and then studied medicine at the University of Sydney, where she graduated with Honours. She subsequently completed dual specialty training in gastroenterology, with a fellowship in hepatology and general medicine.
Sara is a consultant general physician and gastroenterologist at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. She also teaches at the University of Melbourne through the Royal Melbourne Hospital Clinical School. She is a member of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP), the Gastroenterological Society of Australia (GESA), and the European Association for the Study of the Liver (EASL). Sara’s areas of interest include general medicine, liver disease, bowel cancer screening, irritable bowel syndrome and inflammatory bowel disease. She is also a participant in the National Bowel Cancer Screening Program
